🌈 Remembering Mab 🌈

Mab, the beloved matriarch of our kennel, has now crossed the rainbow bridge. She was the sweetest-tempered and most loyal companion I never knew I needed. As my first Cardigan, Mab and I learned so much together, and she will always hold a very special place in my heart.

I named her Mab in honour of the legendary queen of the Welsh fairies Mab, and she truly lived up to her name—my little sprite, my shadow, and a companion I loved deeply. After retiring from the show ring, she enjoyed life as a house dog and fur-parent to Sukiyaki (our cat), Iago and Kuro (our other cat). As she aged she suffered from blindness, became deaf, and suffered arthritis, however she remained lively and curious, her fairy-like presence never fading. She spent her senior years enjoying quiet days in the sun and she passed at home with her family by her side.

Caring for an older dog required extra effort, but it was a small price to pay for her lifetime of devotion. With an average Cardigan lifespan of 12–15 years, we were incredibly grateful to share 15 years and 9 months with Mab, our little fairy queen.

Rest easy, my Mab. You will forever hold a magical place in our hearts, and I will see you again one day my best girl. 🐾💛
